On Monday, March 19, 2018, we will kick off the COLOR BLAST fundraiser at Stone Middle School. This is a campus wide fundraiser. The students who pay to participate in the COLOR BLAST will play games and activities that will result in colored powder being thrown on them on a scheduled afternoon this spring. (It is similar to a color run) The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise money to purchase school safety items. Your student will need to change clothes before riding the bus home on the day of the COLOR BLAST. Please make sure they wear clothing that you do not mind getting full of color.
Early Registration: March 19 - April 9
Late Registration: April 10 - April 23
T-shirt not included
The COLOR BLAST fundraiser is completely optional.
Thank you for supporting our school!!

NEWS & NOTES
A MESSAGE FROM YOUR:
DO YOU HAVE A CHILD THAT WILL BE IN 7TH GRADE NEXT YEAR?
Texas State Law requires all students beginning 7th grade to have a current immunization record. Prior to your child enrolling in 7th grade, a Tdap and MCV4 vaccine are required. To speed up the enrollment process in August of 2018 please make sure your child receives these immunizations now and a current record is sent to the nurse's office as soon as possible. If you should have any questions please contact the nurse's office at 903.737.2041 x 4020.
STONE MS 2018 EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR
Congratulations the these staff members who were chosen by their peers for doing an outstanding job:
Teacher of the Year - Janie Sharrock
Support Staff of the Year - Merita Head
Paraprofessional of the Year - Stormie Scott
Auxiliary Personnel of the Year - Trina Gruber
The official parent drop-off point is in the main school parking lot at the front of the building beside the bus lane. This area is closely monitored by staff members for safety. Parents should pull all the way forward to the northern edge of the parking lot so more cars can unload at the same time. Please do notlet your child out in the street, or in the middle of the front parking lot and expect them to navigate traffic safely. Also, please do not use the back parking lot beside the basketball court to drop off your child in the mornings. This area is for staff parking, and special bus drop-offs only. Thank you for your cooperation.
CELL PHONES & THE LAW
Remember that talking or texting on hand-held cell phones in any school zone is now prohibited by Texas state law. For the safety of everyone, please use caution when driving through our campuses.
Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously. Click on image to submit tip.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911.
