NEWS & NOTES

PARENT DROP-OFFS

The official parent drop-off point is in the main school parking lot at the front of the building beside the bus lane. This area is closely monitored by staff members for safety. Parents should pull all the way forward to the northern edge of the parking lot so more cars can unload at the same time. Please do notlet your child out in the street, or in the middle of the front parking lot and expect them to navigate traffic safely. Also, please do not use the back parking lot beside the basketball court to drop off your child in the mornings. This area is for staff parking, and special education bus drop-offs only. Thank you for your cooperation.

CELL PHONES & THE LAW
Remember that talking or texting on hand-held cell phones in any school zone is now prohibited by Texas state law. For the safety of everyone, please use caution when driving through our campuses.

NLISD uses the SchoolMessenger Notification System for the Panther Alert. The system provides timely communication to parents, students, staff, and the community . If you are a staff member or have a child attending North Lamar ISD, you are automatically in the database and will receive phone notifications. However, if you would prefer to receive Panther Alerts by email or text messages, you can create your own contact preference profile. Contact Manager allows you to control the ways in which you prefer to be contacted. It also works like a mailbox, giving you a place to review messages you may have missed.

Quick Tip

Quick Tip is a support system that allows students to communicate with school administrators. While the district already has many programs to help students deal with challenges such as bullying behaviors, stress, peer pressure, and family problems, Quick Tip helps break the code of silence often experienced by students because it allows them to report concerns to administrators anonymously. Click on image to submit tip.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a crisis line. In cases of emergency, the site will direct students to call 911.
